our story


Direct Detailing was founded by a senior rugby player at the James Bay Athletic Association with the goal of employing local athletes who move to Victoria in order to pursue their rugby careers.
Since 2018 we have grown from a two person operation to a company with four mobile crews and 10 employees. Nearly all of our employees play rugby in the BCRU, MLR, or for Rugby Canada.
Victoria is the centralized location for Rugby Canada, so we see many players coming to town who need supplimental work while they develop their rugby careers.
We currently employ players from the James Bay Athletic Association, Casaway Wanderers RFC, Westshore RFC, Toronto Aarow, Dallas Jackals, Canadian National Sevens Team, and the Pacific Pride Rugby Canada Development Team.

Meet The Team!

Nathan - Owner/Operator

Nathan is the founder of the business, and currently plays rugby for the James Bay Athletic Association. When you contact us by email, Nathan will be there to assist you.
Dewi - Detailing Technician
Dewi has been employed with us since the begining of 2020 while he played for The Pacific Pride Rugby Canada Development Team. He will be taking a break from detailing, as he was signed by the Dallas Jackals of the MLR in November of 2021. We wish him the best and can't wait to have him back during the MLR offseason. 
Tusi - Detailing Technician
Tusi began his employment with us in 2020, and went on to play for the Pacific Pride Rugby Canada Development Team, and the Toronto Aarows Major Leagye Rugby team. Note the tackle attempt by our owner Nathan, holding onto his leg for dear life!
Taylor - Detail Technician
Taylor has been with us since the beginig of 2022 and plays rugby for the James Bay Athletic Association. Although suffering an ACL tear, she plans on getting back on the pitch after her rehabilitation is complete!
Mason - Detail Technician

Mason began his employment with us in the Spring of 2020, when he was initially playing for The Pacific Pride Rugby Canada Development Team. He was later signed by the Toronto Aarows in the MLR, and continues to work with us during the MLR offseason. 

Tyler - Detailing Technician
Tyler began his employment with us in the Spring of 2020, when he was initially playing for The Pacific Pride Rugby Canada Development Team. He was later signed by the Toronto Aarows in the MLR, and continues to work with us during the MLR offseason. 

Siaki - Detailing Technician
Siaki is Tusi's younger brother and he began working with us in the Spring of 2020, when he was initially playing for The Pacific Pride Rugby Canada Development Team. He was later signed by the Toronto Aarows, and continues to work with us during the MLR offseason. 
Anton - Detailing Technician
Anton (seen jumping for joy after scoring a try here) has been employed with us since the end of 2020. He is a member of the Castaway Wanderers RFC, and currently plays for The Canadian National Sevens Team. 
Jake - Detailing Technician
Jake has been working with us since the spring of 2021, and currently plays for the James Bay Athletic Association. 
Brian - Detailing Technician
Brian has been working for us since the summer of 2021, and currently plays for the James Bay Athletic Association. 
Owen - Detailing Technician
Owen began working with us in the Spring of 2021. In September of 2021 he was signed by "The Locals" of the Premier Rugby Sevens League. Owen continues to work with us in between tournaments, and is also a member of the James Bay Athletic Association. 
Dawson - Detailing Technician
Dawson began his employment with us in the Summer of 2021. Since then he has played for the Canadian Mens National team, and has also recently received his realtor's license. Whether you need your vehicle detailed, home sold, or both, Dawson is your guy!
Reegan
Reegan worked for us during 2020, and was subsequently signed by the Austin Gilgronis of the MLR in 2021.

Taylor
Taylor began working for us in the Spring of 2020, and has since moved back to Australia. While he was here Taylor played his rugby with the Westshore RFC. 
Joel - Office Manager
Although Joel doesn't play rugby, he was too good of a guy not to bring on board. He has been working with us since the Spring of 2020 and is the friendly voice that you will hear if you contact us by phone.
